Essentially the SEO strategy for any language remains the same, however, the most important consideration for any multilingual website is the content presented in the local language, ease of availability of the pages and proper page structure.

From a design point of view, it is important that the pages are properly encoded in the local language(s). If you intend to run a number of languages on a single site, the site structure should be well laid out with an appropriate splash page. Keyboard or IP based content should only be offered as an extra rather than the system recognising these features.
